Privacy Policy

In short:
- Flight Focus has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- It never asks for your location.
- Your focus sessions, flight log, favourites and settings stay on your iPhone. We can't see them.
- To show maps and live flights, the app asks map and flight services for them. Those services see the request, but not who you are.
- We don't sell, share or advertise with anyone's information.
- If you email us, we use what you send only to help you.
This policy covers the Flight Focus app for iPhone, including test versions through TestFlight, and this website. "Flight Focus", "we" and "us" mean Zekun Zhi, who makes Flight Focus.
What stays on your iPhone
Flight Focus keeps your focus sessions, flight log, favourite flights and settings on your iPhone, so it can pick up where you left off. They're never sent to us.
If you back up your iPhone, to iCloud or to a computer, they're included in the backup, under Apple's terms. You can clear your flight log in the app at any time, and deleting Flight Focus deletes everything it stored.
Your location
Flight Focus doesn't ask for or use your location. The cities and landmarks you see are built into the app.
Maps and flight information
The map comes from Apple Maps, which Apple's privacy policy covers. Live aircraft come from public flight-tracking services: the app asks them for aircraft in the area you choose, and for route details of the flight you follow. Classic flights are built into the app, so they need no connection.
As with anything that goes online, these services can see your device's internet (IP) address and what was asked for, such as a city's area or an aircraft. They don't receive your name, your location or anything you keep in the app, and we don't give them any information about you. We don't receive these requests ourselves.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Flight Focus sets a reminder on your iPhone for when a session ends. Nothing about it is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in the Settings app, under Notifications ▸ Flight Focus.
Buying Flight Focus
Apple handles payment when you buy Flight Focus. We never see your payment details, and Apple tells us about sales only in totals that don't identify you.
Information Apple shares with us
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how Flight Focus is installed and used. These are combined across many people and don't identify you.
If you test Flight Focus through TestFlight and send feedback or a crash report, Apple passes on what you send, such as your comments and screenshot, along with details like your iPhone model and iOS version. Apple's privacy policy covers what Apple collects itself.
We use this information only to fix problems and improve Flight Focus.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as screenshots or details about your iPhone. We use it only to reply and to fix what you tell us about, and we don't keep it longer than we need to. Our email provider stores messages for us.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics, ads or trackers. Like any website, the service that hosts it may keep short-lived records, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Links to other websites, such as Apple's, are covered by those websites' own policies.
Sharing and selling
We don't sell, rent or share personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. We would only disclose information we hold, such as a support email, if the law required it.
Your choices and rights
Because Flight Focus keeps your information on your iPhone, you're in control of it there: clear your flight log, remove favourites, turn off notifications, or delete the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. In practice that's only emails you've sent us. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the privacy regulator where you live.
Security
Your information stays on your iPhone, protected by its passcode and Apple's built-in security. The connections Flight Focus makes are encrypted.
Children
Flight Focus is suitable for all ages and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you think a child has sent us personal information by email, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If an update to Flight Focus would change what it collects, we'll explain it in that update's notes before it applies.
